They don’t call me ‘Canada’s Golden Ears’ for nothing! I’m pleased to announce that I recently mastered the Junior Boys phenomenal new hit album “Begone Dull Care”. After almost forty years of working as a Senior Mastering Engineer, I am very thankful that revolutionary bands and producers continue to seek out my ears and experience for their ground-breaking records.
When the Junior Boys called me about mastering their new record, I knew it was a sort of extraordinary album that would need a lot of attention to detail. It’s my job to add the finishing touches, and I worked my magic in the studio, adding some subtle finishing notes. I can’t tell you everything I did to the record, because I have to keep a few secrets you know! But I will tell you that utilized the equipment here at Lacquer Channel so that the original dynamic range of the record stayed intact. I really wanted to make sure that sonically speaking, the album had some room to breathe.
Here’s what a few kind folks have said about “Begone Dull Care”…
